"Always show kindness and respect to the people that you meet, because you never know when that person that you are just meeting is an angel or not."  by ?

"Laugh a lot, but not at other people's expense."  by ?

"You are what you eat, drink, watch on television, and listen to on the radio." by Me

Why is it that you could have most everyone you know say wonderful things about you, but instead of listening to them, you listen to those one or two people who say negative things about you?  Isn't majority supposed to rule?  Well, I believe it should.  We need to remember that we can't please everyone and we shouldn't try.  The best we should do is be true to ourselves and just be respectful to everyone else, even if they may not deserve it.  (or just avoid those negitive people in your life as much as possible and surround yourself with only positive people that love and care about you).  Take care and God bless!

"If you aren't going to even try to better your less-than-desirable situation, then stop complaining!"  by Me

"I believe the moment that you start taking care of the things that you already have, will be the moment that God will trust you with more."  by Me

"Don't sweat the small stuff, or you'll miss out on all the sweet stuff."  by Me

When was the last time that you looked up on a really stary night or just stared at a sunrise or sunset and said 'Thank you God for this beautiful sight you have put up for me to admire?'  I try to remember to take the time to admire all of the above.  All three, more often than not, totally amaze me.  Some of the sunrises and sunsets that I have seen look like God just painted them in the sky and when I stare up at the sky on a stary night, it kind of helps put things into perspective.  It just reminds me how amazing the universe and the God who made it is and what He is capable of doing.

"All your dreams can come true, if you have the courage to pursue them."  by Walt Disney

" I would rather entertain and hope that people learned something than educate people and hope they were entertained."  by Walt Disney

"It's kind of fun to do the impossible."  by Walt Disney

"Laughter is America's most important export."  by Walt Disney

Ok, so I chose quotes from Walt Disney for tonight's blog for a very good reason.  That reason is because Walt Disney is one of my biggest inspirations.  He had so many chances where he could have just gave up after being knocked down, but he didn't.  He always got right back up, dusted himself off, and took another shot and aren't we all glad that he did?  He has, to the extreme in some cases, proven that the so-called impossible can be possible, if you just believe in yourself and have faith.  For goodness sake, he took a massive area of swamp land in Florida and turned it into the 'happiest place on earth'!  He had the dream and then he made it happen!  I hope to be that bold, courageous, and innovative someday.  I know that, for me, it isn't a matter of 'if', it's a matter of 'when'.  God does not put dreams and ideas in our heads for us to not do anything about.  He puts them there for a reason.  It's up to you to make the decision on whether you want to do something about them or not.  For me, I choose to do something about it.  I hope you do too.  Take care and God bless!

P.S.  If you'd like to see more of my writing please check out my web-site at www.nicolemcarey.com.  I have written four books.  They are  all fiction.  They all have romance in them.  One is action, drama, romance, two are just romance, and the last is a Christian-themed book that has some romance in it, but the book isn't really based around that romance.  It is based on something deeper.  I hope you check them out!

"Dream.  Then make it happen."  by Me

"Life is too short to hold grudges."  by ?

"Be the person you want your kids to grow up to be."  by Me

'Forgive and forget'.  This is a hard one for some people, including me.  Now, I am a pretty forgiving person, but honestly, to actually forget something in your life that was so emotional that you had to try to forgive, is next to impossible.  You are always going to remember, no matter how hard you try to forget.  I believe that's ok, just as long as you have forgiven.  I believe that's the most important thing.  I believe, for the most part, that everyone deserves a second chance.  Sometimes a person is just having an 'off' day.

"Life is what you make of it."  by ?

"No one can make you feel inferior without your permission.  Don't give it to them." by Eleanor Roosevelt

"Truly loving someone requires more than just saying the words."  by Me

"It is not fair to ask of others what you are not willing to do yourself."  by Eleanor Roosevelt  (She has a lot of really wonderful quotes so I thought I'd give you two of them tonight.)

Tonight I read about the Denver Broncos wide receiver, Kenny McKinley, who apparently killed himself because, from what I understand, he had a lot of problems and he didn't ask for help.  That alone is sad, but what really got to me more was what else was said in this particular article.  One gentleman said that out of all the football teams he'd been a part of, not one guy over a ten year period ever asked for help.  I understand that a lot of dad's want their boys to be real men and not show any emotion, but what is this really teaching our boys in the long run?  I believe that it's teaching them to keep all their emotions all bottled up inside, which is like trying to plug a volcano.  Eventually they're going to blow and someone is going to get hurt or killed.  Is that what we really want for our boys?  I know that I don't.  There's a reason why God gave us tear ducts and it isn't just to keep our eyes moist.  As I said before, crying is God's way of helping a person cleanse.  To all of you out there who believe real men don't cry, well that's where you are wrong.  It takes a real man to show that he has weaknesses.  To show that he's human.  To show that he's not made of stone because, no matter what anyone might think, no one is that strong.  Those emotions are going to come out, one way or another.  Let's save our boys.  Let's teach them that showing emotion is not a bad thing.  Take care and God bless!

"Sometimes you need to let people pick themselves back up when they fall."  by Me

"Smile at your reflection in the mirror.  Sometimes that's all a person needs to brighten their day is someone to smile at them, even if that someone is your reflection."  by Me

"Smile at everyone because you never know whose day you will affect by doing so or whose day you will affect if you don't."  by Me

I believe that sometimes we can get so wrapped up in our stresses and worries that we forget to look up and see that door that God is holding open for us, just waiting for us to come through and enjoy the happiness that he has waiting for us on the other side.  Waiting for us to come enjoy the stressless worryless life he has for us on that other side.  Try to always give all your stresses and worries to God to take care of and just enjoy life like He wants you to.  Also, remember this, whatever is supposed to happen is going to happen whether you stress or worry about it or not, so why do it?  Just enjoy life and let God take care of the rest.

"If tomorrow never came, would you be happy with how your life turned out so far?"  by ?

"You will miss every shot that you don't take."  (that one came from a poster at one of the elementary schools that my kids went to)

"Happiness is a state of mind."  by ?

"It's not the years in your life, it's the life in your years."  by someone famous, I just can't remember who!

I don't understand something.  Maybe someone out there can help me.  Why do people think that they have to have a so-called bucket list?  You know, things that they want to do before they die?  And why do most people don't start doing anything on this list until they think that they don't have much time to check off anything on it?  Why don't they start while they are still young and, as far as they know, have their whole life ahead of them?  Wouldn't that make more sense then trying to cram everything in at the last moment, not knowing if they will get anywhere close to everything on their list checked off, and not being able to truly enjoy each one since they are trying to do so much in so little of time?  I don't know, but what I do know is that I plan on starting to check of things on my list before I get anywhere close to when I think I will be making my way to heaven.  Makes since to me!
