New Year's Resolution Time/Dream Time!-December 29th, 2010

Sorry I haven't been on in awhile.  Holiday season kind of keeps a person busy.  I hope everyone is well and that  you all had a very blessed Christmas.  I can't believe that another Christmas has already come and gone and the new year will be here in just a couple of days!  Crazy!  It is again time to figure out those New Year's resolutions!  I have a few this year.  One is to make sure I fulfill all my New Year's resolutions, two is to start selling my newly-made-into-paperback book 'African Sunset' and get my other books made into paperbacks, three is the same as a lot of people, to lose some weight, and four is to start a business with my husband.

I am not quite sure yet what business we want to start, but I want to do something that pertains to entertaining families.  I love to make people smile and be happy!  Especially children, maybe because they are usually easier to make smile.  Sometimes you can just make a funny face at them and they start laughing like you just told the funniest joke in the world, but that doesn't usually happen when you do that to adults.  They usually just think you are a little strange or should maybe be put into a padded room.  I just know that I don't want to start just any business.  I want to start a business that I can see my husband and I still doing in ten+ years and still loving it.  I don't want to just start a business just to make money.  Granted that is a good thing and I want to do that, but I want to do it by doing something that both my husband and I enjoy.

It may sound like a dream, but people can make their dreams come true if they just believe and have faith in themselves.  It's not always easy to make your dreams come true, but along with the believing and the faith you must also have determination.

You may get told 'you can't do that', 'that's just not possible', or something along the lines of that.  If you want to make your dreams come true you have to ignore that.  Where would we be if people like Christopher Columbus, Bill Gates, or Benjamin Franklin all listened to all the people that told them that they were crazy and just gave up?  You all know the answer to that one.

So, I guess what I am saying is, believe in yourself, be determined, don't give up, and most importantly, have a little faith in yourself.  Not everyone is going to think your dreams are great, but they aren't the ones that matter.  It's your dream and God put inside of you for a reason.  Find out what that is.  Have a wonderful New Year!  Take care and God bless!

Dreams-November 15th, 2010

"A person is not old until regrets take the place of dreams."  by John Barrymore

"All people dream, but not equally.  Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous people, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible."  by T.E. Lawrence

"Dreams are illustrations...from the book your soul is writing about you."  by Marsha Norman

Dreams.  They are an extraordinary thing, but only if you act on those dreams.  Now, I am not talking about those sometimes crazy dreams that you sometimes have that make no sense like you almost falling off a cliff that suddenly appears in your bathroom, but don't because Harrison Ford saves you, or something like that.  I am talking about those things that go threw your head that you would love to do someday or that you wish you had the courage to do.  Maybe it's something like 'you want to become an famous artist, musician, actor, or some other thing that people are always saying are hard careers to get into.'  The thing is though someone has to make it in those hard-to-get-into careers.  Why can't it be you?  Who said it can't be and should you be listening to this person when you have this particular dream burning inside of you?  I don't think so.  I think a person should go after their dreams.  I believe God gives you these 'dreams' for a reason.  Don't give up on them.  Don't just tell yourself that you would never be able to make your dreams come true.  Well, guess what, you will never know if you don't try because you will miss every shot that you don't take.  I think that it is better to try to shoot for your dreams and possibly miss then to not try at all.  At least then you'll know and if it doesn't work out as planned I am sure that you have other dreams to shoot for.  (Don't give up easily though.  Walt Disney didn't and look where it got him.)  Take care and God bless!

The Disney Experience-November 3rd, 2010

"When you are curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.  And one thing it takes to accomplish something is courage."  by Walt Disney

"We allow no geniuses around our Studio!"  by Walt Disney

"Somehow I can't believe there are any heights that can't be scaled by a man who knows the secret of making dreams come true.  This special secret, it seems to me, can be summarized in four C's.  They are Curiosity, Confidence, Courage, and Consistency and the greatest of these is Confidence.  When you believe a thing, believe it all the way, implicitly, and unquestionably."

A lot of you seem to like to read about anything Disney.  I so know the feeling!  I have been a huge fan of Disney since I was little.  When they say it is a magical place, they weren't lying!  The sad thing is the fact that not everyone has that magic-loving-kid inside of them.  I am so glad that I am not one of them!  The feeling that I get whenever my family and I visit Walt Disney World is almost surreal.  When we are there or are on our way they I just can't believe it.  It's almost like I am in a dream!  It's sad to know that there are people out there that never get that feeling no matter where they are.

One thing that I wish though is I wish they'd bring back the old Disney shows like Tail Spin, Darkwing Duck, Rescue Rangers, Chip and Dale, etc. etc.  They need a Classic Disney channel where they show all the old cartoon series, television series, and classic movies.  I think that it would be a huge hit!  I am sorry, but a lot of the shows they have been showing on the Disney Channel seem to be for a tax write off or something.  They are so not good!  I would like to have some feedback not only on this Classic Disney Channel  idea, but I would also love to here about your Disney experiences.

Now, may you wish upon a star, the second star to the right, and make all your dreams come true!  Here's to you having many Disney experiences throughout your life!    :)        Take care and God bless!

A DISNEY KID (at heart)-October 29th, 2010

If you are an adult and you have been to one of the Disney parks you may know what I am talking about.  My husband and I loved going to Walt Disney World as much as our kids did and we had just as much fun!  When you are standing in the middle of Walt Disney World it's almost surreal.  It's like you can't believe that you are there.  Every time we've ever gone I have felt that way.  It's like you are in a whole other world.  (hence the name Disney 'World') It is very magical.  Sometimes, when you are walking down the streets it's almost as if it's a dream!  I wish that I could live there!  I know that sounds crazy, but it's just such a feel-good place.  I love it!  If you have never been there I hope someday that you get to go.  If you are a kid at heart and you love magical places, then you will absolutely love Walt Disney World!  I hope you all have a great night.  Take care and God bless!

THAT DISNEY FEELING-October 26th, 2010

"The more you like yourself, the less you are like anyone else, which makes you unique."  by Walt Disney

"The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing."  by Walt Disney

"There is more treasure in books then in all the pirate's loot on Treasure Island."  by Walt Disney

Yes, I know, more Disney quotes.  Well, I did say that he is a huge inspiration to me.  Do any of you ever get that Disney feeling?  You know that feeling when you were young and watched Disney movies or just the short cartoons?  Do you remember how they made you feel?  If you've been to Disney World or Disneyland you get more of that Disney feeling there.  I don't know exactly how to explain it.  It's just like all your insides are doing the dance of joy!  You are so happy that you want to cry.  I have only been to Disney World and when I was there it just made my creative juices boil over.  Being a creative person and going to Disney World just makes you want to create.  All of you out there who aren't of the creative type probably think that I am crazy.  Well, maybe I am.  At least just a little, but aren't all creative geniuses.  LOL.  Ok, so I don't know if I would really call myself a genius, but I know that I am a very creative person and some day I will make my dreams come true, just as Walt Elias Disney did.  Well, I am going to sign off for now.  Take care and God bless.

October 23rd, 2010-Everything Happens For a Good Reason

"Everything happens, for a good reason, even if at the time it doesn't seem pleasing.  Just trust in God, he knows what he's doing.  Just trust in God and you'll never be on the losing end."  by Me

"You believe in me and I believe in you.  Let's see where our dreams will take us to."  by Me

"Sometimes you just have to hold your breath, say a little prayer, and believe in the kindness of others, no matter how much you want to question them."  by Me

It is not very easy for most people to trust strangers-in-need.  People are scared  to help others because they are afraid of what the person, that they are trying to help, might do to them, or what someone, whom that person is with, might do .  I believe that most people are good, most people try to make the right choices.  A person wouldn't be very normal if they didn't slip once in a great while.

October 20th, 2010-"The World's Gone Mad!"

"The world's gone mad.  Good turning bad.  Man against man.  Everything is getting banned.  Nowhere to run.  Nowhere to hide.  You're your only guide.  Black's against whites.  That really bites.  Right against wrong.  Where do I belong?  I feel like crying.  Maybe even lying.  Too much to take!  Please stop!  For God's sake!  Native blood in all of us.  Why only certain prejudice.  Kids getting beat, living in the streets.  Drugs in school.  You know that ain't cool.  Dirt in the air.  Who's gonna care?  Love or hate?  It's a debate."

This is just part of a song that I wrote over a decade ago.  I think that I was actually still in high school at the time.  I have written a lot of songs over the years.  This one really isn't my usual stuff.  Most of the songs that I write are love songs.  I am not sure how I came up with this, but I did so I wrote it down.  I guess it really doesn't fit with my 'Sunshine and a Basket Full of Daisies' title of my blog, but I thought I would write it down anyway.  It does make you think and sometimes thinking can be a good thing.  It sometimes helps a little light to go off in your head that makes you say 'Hey, I want to do better.  I want to be a better person.  I want to make something of myself.  Etc. Etc.'  Maybe these lyrics will do something good for you.  I hope you all have a great night.  Take care and God bless!

I BELIEVE-October 18th, 2010

"I believe that most people will choose to do the right thing.  I believe that most people, for the most part, are honest.  I believe that most people want to help people in trouble, but are too scared too because they are afraid for one reason or another.  I believe that good things do come to those who are patient.  I believe that there is a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow.  I believe that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.  I believe that there is, at least some,  goodness in everyone.  I believe in true love.  I believe in happiness.  I believe that a person can be happy no matter what, if they make the choice to be.  I believe that no one can make you feel bad about yourself without your permission.  I believe that anyone can change, if they have the right people around them backing them up.  I believe in doing the right thing no matter what the end result.  I believe that what you give is what you will get in return.  I believe in all of these things because I believe in God!"

I hope you all have a wonderful night!  Take care and God bless!

When you take the fun out-October 16th, 2010

"When you worry it's like saying 'excuse me God, I can take care of this'."

"Why should you make yourself miserable because of someone else's bad choices?"

"When you take the fun out of sports and games by getting way to competitive, then you might as well quit!"

I think that people get into a lot of trouble when they forget what sports and games are really supposed to be about.  They aren't supposed to make a person get so angry that they yell obscenities, hurt people, or something even worse.  They are supposed to be fun.  I am not saying that being competitive is a bad thing, but I am saying that a person shouldn't be so competitive that they take the fun out of the sport or game that they are playing, for them and for others.  If they do, then I think that it's definitely time for them to quit or at least take a break and come back with a fresh head.  I hope you all have a wonderful day!  Take care and God bless!

October 14, 2010 Imagination quotes

"A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a single person contemplates it, bering with them the image of a cathedral."  by Antoine de Saint-Exupery

"All people who have achieved great things have been great dreamers."  by Orison Swett Marden

"I am imagination.  I can see what the eyes cannot see.  I can hear what the ears cannot hear.  I can feel what the heart cannot feel."  by Peter Nivio Zarlenga

The imagination.  It can be all sorts of things.  It can be so wonderful and inspiring that it can help us to bring to life things that the world has never seen before.  It can also make us more scared or angry than what we should be because sometimes we let it run away with us.  Our imagination can take something minor and either turn it into something spectacular and amazing or 'see' things that aren't really therel.  The main thing that I know is that if you don't have an imagination, you must be one boring person.  'All people who have achieved great things have been great dreamers.'  Every material thing around us was once part of someones imagination!  Take care and God bless!

"If God brings you to it, He will help you through it."  by ?

"One night I had a dream that I was walking along the beach with the Lord.  Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.  In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.  Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was only one set of footprints.  This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow, or defeat, I could see only ones set of footprints.  So I said to the Lord "You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always.  But I have noticed that during the most trying times of my life there have only been one set of footprints in the sand.  Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?"  The Lord replied "The times when you have seen only one set of footprints, is when I carried you."  by Mary Stevenson

Do you ever have one of those days where you just want to cry?  It's not like anything that bad is going on with me, but I just have been feeling like crying.  I prefer to be the shoulder to cry on.  Not the other way around.  Here's kind of why I feel like crying.  My neck has been stiff and sore for the past few days, making it hard to lie down or get comfortable.  I had sudden hearing loss in my right ear, been to two ear doctors who basically told me the same thing, that I will probably never get my hearing back and that I will probably need a hearing aid.  I am not even 40 yet!  The third thing is that I have been trying to heal planters facitis that I have in both of my feet.  Now, I know that there are people far off worse than I am and I am really not trying to complain or blame God or anything.  I guess I just feel so overwhelmed that all I feel like doing is crying.  I know everything is going to be alright even if my neck and feet hurt for the rest of my life and I have to get a hearing aid, but right now I just feel like crying.  Right now I feel like cleansing.

I have always loved the 'Footprints in the Sand' poem.  It really says a lot to me.  It tells me that God is with me always, especially in the most difficult times.  I also know that God knows that sometimes the paths that He leads me down are difficult and sometimes overwhelming and He understands if sometimes I need to cry, but He knows that doesn't  mean that I am giving up on him.  I know that He always has my best interest at heart, but I also know that He understands that I may not always understand His motives and may need to cry about it.  During those times I know that He surrounds me with His love and lets me know that He 'is' taking care of me.  I love you God.  Thank you for always being there for me!  Everyone else, take care and may God bless you!

"A women is like a tea bag-you can't tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water."  by Elaenor Roosevelt

"Do what you feel in your heart to be right-for you'll be criticized anyway.  You'll damned if you do and damned if you don't!"  by Eleanor Roosevelt

"Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people."  by Eleanor Roosevelt

I need to read about this woman.  She must have been pretty amazing to have said so many insightful quotes.  You will probably be seeing some more of her quotes on here because she has so many great ones.

I like all of the quotes that I have quoted tonight, but I am going to talk about the last one.  I believe she has a very valid point.  People that have ideas or events to discuss, more often than not, don't have time to talk about others.   They are too busy!  Maybe, if more people would keep themselves busy, there wouldn't be so much gossip floating around.  Gossip is never a good thing.  It hurts one way or another, especially if it isn't true.  Something to think about.  Take care and God bless!

"Don't like or not like something or someone just because someone else does or doesn't.  Use your own mind to decide for yourself."  by ?

"No one has the right to judge anyone except for God."  by ?

"Sometimes it's ok to jump in head first."  by Me

I believe that, as a parent, you should always make sure that your child (or children) know that they can come to you for anything.  Make sure that they know that you aren't going to judge them or put them down for the mistakes that they may have made.  They are only children and they are going to make mistakes.  Just make sure that they know that you still love them and that you will help them any way you can to make sure they don't keep repeating mistakes.  Also, be a part of your child's life.  Always take the time to listen to them and to spend time with them.  The more you do so, the more you will know about your child, and the less chances there will be for your child to fall into the wrong crowd.  If your child is getting the love they need from you, then there is less of a chance that they will go looking for it in all the wrong places.  I hope you all have a wonderful night.  Take care and God bless!

"If you don't know what you're looking for, how will you know when you find it?"  by ?

"Life doesn't always go as you plan.  You just have to roll with the punches and make the very best of it."  the first part I got from a line in the 'Dukes of Hazzard Reunion' show and the second part is by me.

"If you start acting like your enemies, then what makes you any better than they are?"  another line from the 'Dukes of Hazzard Reunion' show.

One of my most favorite memories, when my husband and I were first together, was when he spontaneously pulled over the car we were driving along in, cranked up the radio, got out, came around to my side, pulled me out of the car, and started dancing with me!  The song was 'Oh What a Night' by 'The Four Seasons' or maybe the version we heard was by 'Franki Vallie'.  I am not sure, but either way it was so cool when my honey did that!  I love it when he is spontaneous like that.  He isn't that way all of the time, which I am glad.  Being surprised all the time would probably get to be a little much.  He does it just enough.

Spontaneity makes life exciting.  If you don't have much of it your life or you don't have any at all, you should!  It's alright to step outside of the box once in awhile and just have fun.  It's one of the keys to longevity!  Have a wonderful night.  Take care and God bless!  Now, go do something that is spontaneous and fun.  (Don't hurt anyone when doing so though.)

"Encourage creativity."  by ?

"If the option isn't there, it can't be chosen."  by Me

"Do something for someone else without expecting anything in return."  by ?

I believe that being happy is more of a state-of-mind than anything else.  I believe if a person is determined to be happy, then they will be no matter what is thrown at them.  The sad thing is that there are a lot of people out there that are determined to be unhappy.  They seem to thrive on drama.  They want everyone to feel sorry for them.  I don't.  I can't feel sorry for people that don't even try to make their lives better.  That don't even try to make their lives happy.  I just don't like 'poor-me' people.  Everyone has their problems.  It's how they deal with them that shows what they are really made of.  Perseverance or mush.  What are you?  Are you made of 'perseverence' or 'mush'?  I like to think of myself as being made of 'perseverence'.  Life is to short to be a steaming pile of mush!  Take care and God bless!

"I believe a person needs a new adventure every now and then so boredom doesn't set in.  So, what's your next adventure going to be?"  by Me

"One of the best things in life is that first bite of a chocolate chip cookie shortly after being taken out of the oven."  by Me

"Sometimes a person needs to take a break from the real world and lose themselves in a good book."
by Me

Sometimes I think we forget about what is most important in life.  Such as our family, our faith, and our health.  I believe if a person has all of those in working order, then they are doing better than most.  I believe we all take too much for granted.  We complain about everything that we don't have, instead of just being grateful for what we do have.  Seriously, why do we believe that we deserve more if we aren't grateful for what God has already given to us?  Makes no sense to me.  Would you want to give anything else to an ungrateful person?  I know that I wouldn't.  Hope you all had a wonderful day!  Take care and God bless!

"Turn your 'I wil make my dreams come true someday' into I'm going to make my dreams come true today!" by Me

"Sometimes, all a person needs to not give up, is for just one person to believe in them."  by Me

"You're never to old to act like I kid."  by ?

I am going to focus on my last quote 'you're never to old to act like I kid'.  My husband and I took our kids to Disney World this last April and we had as much fun as our kids did!  (some of the time we may have been having more!)  I don't think that my husband and I will ever grow up.  We have way to much fun having fun like our kids!  Now, we still take care of our 'grown-up' responsibilities, but if you live life with a serious attitude I don't believe that you are going to live a very long life and if, for some odd reason you do, it's not going to be much fun.  You are only given one life to live.  Live it to its fullest.  Relax and have fun!  You'll be glad you did.  Love to all.  Take care and God bless!

Love,
     nm Carey

P.S.  Go watch a funny Disney or Pixar (or whatever cartoon) movie and laugh out-loud like a kid.  Remember not to care what others may think when you do.  It is 'your' life, so live it 'your' way!

October 4th, 2010

I apologize for not getting a blog up last night so I am going to put more quotes and two thoughts down tonight.  I hope everyone is well.  Take care and God bless!

"You know when you are with the right person when, even when you think you're looking your worst, they still think that you are beautiful."  by Me

"Anger is only one letter short of danger."  by ?

"If you are against you, then why should you expect anything less from others?"  by Me

"When you wear pretty panties it helps you to feel more pretty."  by my friend Carla's old school friend

"The best thing is to be pretty on the inside, but it's nice to look pretty on the outside too!"  by Me

"Always take time to look around at all the beautiful things God has made for you and let him know how grateful you are."

There was this certain person that upset me.  She had done some not so nice things.  A friend of mine told me that I should say something to her, get that last word in, but I told her that anyone who treats people the way she does can't be happy.  I am happy.  What good would it do me to kick a person when they are already unhappy?

I have worked with children and elderly people.  Funny, both have a lot in common!  Now, I am not trying to demean the elderly in anyway.  It's just that they, as do children, require a lot of patience, time, and respect.  They are going to repeat, sometimes a lot, they wil probably even ask a lot of questions, but you just smile and answer the questions, over and over, again as if it was the first time you've heard it.

"Always show kindness and respect to the people that you meet, because you never know when that person that you are just meeting is an angel or not."  by ?

"Laugh a lot, but not at other people's expense."  by ?

"You are what you eat, drink, watch on television, and listen to on the radio." by Me

Why is it that you could have most everyone you know say wonderful things about you, but instead of listening to them, you listen to those one or two people who say negative things about you?  Isn't majority supposed to rule?  Well, I believe it should.  We need to remember that we can't please everyone and we shouldn't try.  The best we should do is be true to ourselves and just be respectful to everyone else, even if they may not deserve it.  (or just avoid those negitive people in your life as much as possible and surround yourself with only positive people that love and care about you).  Take care and God bless!

"If you aren't going to even try to better your less-than-desirable situation, then stop complaining!"  by Me

"I believe the moment that you start taking care of the things that you already have, will be the moment that God will trust you with more."  by Me

"Don't sweat the small stuff, or you'll miss out on all the sweet stuff."  by Me

When was the last time that you looked up on a really stary night or just stared at a sunrise or sunset and said 'Thank you God for this beautiful sight you have put up for me to admire?'  I try to remember to take the time to admire all of the above.  All three, more often than not, totally amaze me.  Some of the sunrises and sunsets that I have seen look like God just painted them in the sky and when I stare up at the sky on a stary night, it kind of helps put things into perspective.  It just reminds me how amazing the universe and the God who made it is and what He is capable of doing.

"All your dreams can come true, if you have the courage to pursue them."  by Walt Disney

" I would rather entertain and hope that people learned something than educate people and hope they were entertained."  by Walt Disney

"It's kind of fun to do the impossible."  by Walt Disney

"Laughter is America's most important export."  by Walt Disney

Ok, so I chose quotes from Walt Disney for tonight's blog for a very good reason.  That reason is because Walt Disney is one of my biggest inspirations.  He had so many chances where he could have just gave up after being knocked down, but he didn't.  He always got right back up, dusted himself off, and took another shot and aren't we all glad that he did?  He has, to the extreme in some cases, proven that the so-called impossible can be possible, if you just believe in yourself and have faith.  For goodness sake, he took a massive area of swamp land in Florida and turned it into the 'happiest place on earth'!  He had the dream and then he made it happen!  I hope to be that bold, courageous, and innovative someday.  I know that, for me, it isn't a matter of 'if', it's a matter of 'when'.  God does not put dreams and ideas in our heads for us to not do anything about.  He puts them there for a reason.  It's up to you to make the decision on whether you want to do something about them or not.  For me, I choose to do something about it.  I hope you do too.  Take care and God bless!

P.S.  If you'd like to see more of my writing please check out my web-site at www.nicolemcarey.com.  I have written four books.  They are  all fiction.  They all have romance in them.  One is action, drama, romance, two are just romance, and the last is a Christian-themed book that has some romance in it, but the book isn't really based around that romance.  It is based on something deeper.  I hope you check them out!

"Dream.  Then make it happen."  by Me

"Life is too short to hold grudges."  by ?

"Be the person you want your kids to grow up to be."  by Me

'Forgive and forget'.  This is a hard one for some people, including me.  Now, I am a pretty forgiving person, but honestly, to actually forget something in your life that was so emotional that you had to try to forgive, is next to impossible.  You are always going to remember, no matter how hard you try to forget.  I believe that's ok, just as long as you have forgiven.  I believe that's the most important thing.  I believe, for the most part, that everyone deserves a second chance.  Sometimes a person is just having an 'off' day.

"Life is what you make of it."  by ?

"No one can make you feel inferior without your permission.  Don't give it to them." by Eleanor Roosevelt

"Truly loving someone requires more than just saying the words."  by Me

"It is not fair to ask of others what you are not willing to do yourself."  by Eleanor Roosevelt  (She has a lot of really wonderful quotes so I thought I'd give you two of them tonight.)

Tonight I read about the Denver Broncos wide receiver, Kenny McKinley, who apparently killed himself because, from what I understand, he had a lot of problems and he didn't ask for help.  That alone is sad, but what really got to me more was what else was said in this particular article.  One gentleman said that out of all the football teams he'd been a part of, not one guy over a ten year period ever asked for help.  I understand that a lot of dad's want their boys to be real men and not show any emotion, but what is this really teaching our boys in the long run?  I believe that it's teaching them to keep all their emotions all bottled up inside, which is like trying to plug a volcano.  Eventually they're going to blow and someone is going to get hurt or killed.  Is that what we really want for our boys?  I know that I don't.  There's a reason why God gave us tear ducts and it isn't just to keep our eyes moist.  As I said before, crying is God's way of helping a person cleanse.  To all of you out there who believe real men don't cry, well that's where you are wrong.  It takes a real man to show that he has weaknesses.  To show that he's human.  To show that he's not made of stone because, no matter what anyone might think, no one is that strong.  Those emotions are going to come out, one way or another.  Let's save our boys.  Let's teach them that showing emotion is not a bad thing.  Take care and God bless!

"Sometimes you need to let people pick themselves back up when they fall."  by Me

"Smile at your reflection in the mirror.  Sometimes that's all a person needs to brighten their day is someone to smile at them, even if that someone is your reflection."  by Me

"Smile at everyone because you never know whose day you will affect by doing so or whose day you will affect if you don't."  by Me

I believe that sometimes we can get so wrapped up in our stresses and worries that we forget to look up and see that door that God is holding open for us, just waiting for us to come through and enjoy the happiness that he has waiting for us on the other side.  Waiting for us to come enjoy the stressless worryless life he has for us on that other side.  Try to always give all your stresses and worries to God to take care of and just enjoy life like He wants you to.  Also, remember this, whatever is supposed to happen is going to happen whether you stress or worry about it or not, so why do it?  Just enjoy life and let God take care of the rest.

"If tomorrow never came, would you be happy with how your life turned out so far?"  by ?

"You will miss every shot that you don't take."  (that one came from a poster at one of the elementary schools that my kids went to)

"Happiness is a state of mind."  by ?

"It's not the years in your life, it's the life in your years."  by someone famous, I just can't remember who!

I don't understand something.  Maybe someone out there can help me.  Why do people think that they have to have a so-called bucket list?  You know, things that they want to do before they die?  And why do most people don't start doing anything on this list until they think that they don't have much time to check off anything on it?  Why don't they start while they are still young and, as far as they know, have their whole life ahead of them?  Wouldn't that make more sense then trying to cram everything in at the last moment, not knowing if they will get anywhere close to everything on their list checked off, and not being able to truly enjoy each one since they are trying to do so much in so little of time?  I don't know, but what I do know is that I plan on starting to check of things on my list before I get anywhere close to when I think I will be making my way to heaven.  Makes since to me!

"Take the time to laugh so hard that you cry."  by Me

"If you feel like crying then do.  It's God's way of helping you cleanse."  by Me

"Sticks and stones may break your bones, but words hurt worse than anything so be careful what you say to others because bones heal, feelings, not always."  (first part by ? and the last part by Me)

Can anyone tell me why most of us care so much about what other people think?  Why do we think these 'other people' have the right to dictate how we should feel about ourselves?  Why do we let these 'other people' rule our feelings?  Shouldn't we all just live our lives the way we truly want to and not change because someone thinks the way we are doing things is weird?  I believe that the only authority that we should be listening to is God.  If we don't go against Him, then we are doing great, no matter what anyone else may think.  Just be yourself and if those 'other people' don't like it, then so be it!  You will be more happy with yourself in the long run and that's what really matters.

"Don't let things that won't matter to you tomorrow take away your smile today."  by ?

"Life is made up of the choices you make.  If you don't like your life, then make different choices."  by Me

"If you don't love yourself, how can you expect anyone else to love you?"  by Me

I believe that everyday is a new beginning.  Full of all sorts of possibilities.  Each new day is a clean piece of paper waiting for you to create a beautiful masterpiece.  The masterpiece may be a song, a story, a poem, a drawing, or some other wonderful idea that God has put into your head.  It also may be that first step that you take to making your dreams come true.  Whatever it is, it is waiting for you to discover it, acknowledge it, and do something about it.  Each day can be a new beginning for you, a clean piece of paper to create a beautiful masterpiece, if you desire it to be.  I hope you do.  Take care and God bless!

"Everyone has their own breaking point.  Just because yours may not be the same as someone elses, doesn't make you any better or worse than they are."  by Me

"Sometimes, to get the person that you love to do the things for you that you'd like them to do for you, you need to do those things for them first."  by Me

"When it comes to kids, 'Do as I say, not as I do' just doesn't work."  by ?

I figure if God puts me in a certain situation or He puts me in the company of certain people then there's probably a very good reason for it, even if I am not the most comfortable, but, as I said before, a person isn't always put into a situation for their benefit.  God may put us in some uncomfortable situations so our company can benefit someone else.  Who are we to question God?

"If you don't just be yourself with someone and they fall in love with you, just know that they aren't really in love with you.  They are in love with the fictional character you made yourself out to be."  by Me

I am one of those people that pretty much thanks God for everything.  Even the littlest of things such as remembering to do things or crazy things like thanking him for not letting the toilet over-flow.  Yes, I know that may sound silly, but it's true.  I believe that everything happens for a reason.  Whether it's to test our faith, teach us some sort of lesson, strenghthen our beliefs, or just get us to believe period.  Even though sometimes we may question God, just always know that He knows what He's doing, even if we don't.  My faith in God and my belief in him are very profound.  He has made his presence known too many times in my life for me not to believe and for me not to have faith.  Some people may say, 'well he doesn't love me because he has done absolutely nothing for me.  Look how crapy my life is.'  This is all I have to ask you 'do you have faith and do you believe?'  There's a line from a movie that would fit what I am trying to get at, granted it's from the movie 'Santa Claus', but the line pertains to God also.  The line is this, 'Seeing isn't believing, believing is seeing.'   If you don't believe and you don't have faith you aren't going to see God working in your life.  Try being a 'glass half full' type of person for a day and see what you can see.  What I mean is, instead of looking at all the negatives that happen in your day, look for every good thing.  Even if it's just the toilet not over-flowing.  You will find what you are looking for I promise you because if you are looking for something you will usually find it whether what you are looking for are all the negatives or all the positives.  Take care and God bless!

I try not to get to upset when I am running late, for whatever reason, or when I forget to do something because, if I was not supposed to run late or I was supposed to remember certain things, then God would have helped me do it.  I believe when you are running late or you don't remember something, God has a good reason for not helping you get out the door sooner or help you remember those certain things.  I believe that it's one of his many ways that He is looking out for you.

"Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect.  It just means that you've decided to see beyond the imperfections." by (idk)

"If the wind blows a wrinkle in your cloth, don't be angry with nature.  For it is only God letting you know that you are bringing darkness to others." by Me

"Be beautiful for you because if you try to be beautiful for others you will never feel beautiful because everyone has their own idea of what is beautiful."  by Me

Those are just a few inspirational quotes to brighten your day and make you think.

Do you ever have those moments where you know God stepped in, took you by the hand, and walked you through those particular moments in your life?  I like to call those moments 'God Moments'.  Now, truthfully, I don't remember whether someone told me about 'God Moments' or if I came up with it on my own.  I have used it to describe different moments in my life, that I know were God's doing, for so long that I can't remember.  Either way, that's what I call them now.  Anyway, I want to tell you about a 'God Moment' that I had just last week.  There had been some things that had been stressing me out about my job.  So much so that I didn't even want to go to work.  On this particular day I was sitting in my car outside my work on the verge of crying because I didn't really want to go into work.  Now, it really wasn't because I didn't like my job, because I really do, but there were just some things about it that were worrying me.  I had been doing a lot of praying about this.  As I was waiting in my car I turned on my radio and 'Smile' by Uncle Kracker came on and my tears broke free because I believed that God was telling me that he was answering my prayers.   I believed that He was telling me to 'smile' and that everything was going to be alright.  I was right!  I had a great day at work and have every day since then.

One thing that I know that I sometimes forget, and most people do, is the fact that things will happen in God's time, not in ours, and so we get impatient.  Not that we necessarily mean to.  We just do.  Sometimes though people get so impatient with God that they give up on him and think that He doesn't care about them or love them.  This is so not true!  God always knows what is best for us.  We just need to have a little faith.  Now, if you are one of those people that gets impatient and lacks faith, read the lyrics to the song 'Have a Little Faith in Me' written by John Hiatt and pretend that it is God speaking (or singing if you listen to the link I provided) to you.

Well, that's all I have for right now.  I will post later.  I hope that everyone has a glass-overflowing-day!  Remember to 'smile'!  Take care and God bless!
